Populator v4 - Terrain Tab

Description:
The Terrain tab has settings which let you choose how the population is effected by the terrain.

Settings:

  • Sit on terrain: Check the checkbox AND specify a shader to serve as a terrain onto which the instantiated objects will be placed. If you find a population is mysteriously floating above the terrain check which shader has been specified here.
  • Planet: This field lets you choose the Planet node the populator is associated with.

A shader is a program or set of instructions used in 3D computer graphics to determine the final surface properties of an object or image. This can include arbitrarily complex descriptions of light absorption and diffusion, texture mapping, reflection and refraction, shadowing, surface displacement and post-processing effects. In Terragen 2 shaders are used to construct and modify almost every element of a scene.
