With Terragen 2 you have complete control over the shader networks used for terrains, textures, micropolyon displacements, clouds and object distributions. You can reorganise the planetary shading pipeline to suit your goals. With the inclusion of Xfrog Plants libraries, you can populate your scenes with virtually unlimited numbers of highly detailed, realistic 3D plants. Xfrog Plant Libraries and Organic Modeling Software

Xfrog Plants is an expansive library of over 3000 3D plant models, including 100's of species and multiple growth stages for each tree. All models have been created with Xfrog's procedural organic software. The libraries are created for regions (example - USA East,Mediterranean, Japan) and by Topic (for example - Prehistoric, Flowers, and Autumn). These Libraries are modeled by botanical experts from original photos, reference sketches, and multiple reference books, and we travel and collect real samples of each plant in each library - bark, tree leaves, flower petals, and fruit, are scanned and are combined with very high quality modeling for absolutely the highest realism possible.

 

Xfrog Modeling Software is a stand-alone 3D graphics program, used for organic modeling and animation. The Philosophy behind Xfrog is to offer various mathematical procedural components, to provide a way to simulate various types of mathematical structures found in Nature. All the components can be animated by varying their parameters, such as number of branches, crookedness, randomness, strength of attraction, gravity, phototropism. With such techniques, a quite convincing flower can be built and animated very easily , or a tree can be modeled and grown. Or an Architectural model can be constructed using components which describe a multiplied sequence of elements around a corkscrew path.
