I don't remember seeing this on our site before.  If it has appeared before, I apologize.

Someone at SetupTab.com introduced the group there to it.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Shame there's no mac version.... :(
I just need to tweak that texture a bit more...

Cool. I like Walli's Pines, but I'd like to give him a run for his money! ;D

I get python errors trying to import the directX format into Blender.  Don't know about the other supported format (b3d).  Not sure what to use for that format.

I use Blender a lot. I'll have something tomorrow night.

I just tried Nvidia's FX Composer and get an error "Error Invalid X File Format - Syntax error at line 0: Data frm_Frame1 not found  -1" when trying a directX file import (created by tree[d].)

Guess I have to check the directX file format spec.

I managed to import an obj file tree from Tree Generator into Terragen.
You also have to download the guy's Global Illumination Editor "Gile(s)". It's Freeware.
Instal that.
Then download "Tree[d]" and instal that into the Gile(s) directory as a plug in. It should automatically go there.
Create your tree in Tree(d) (I just loaded in one of the sample tree files). Then Send To Gile(s).
Once it's in there you can export it as an obj file.
A couple of other things I had to do:
Manually fetch the mtl file, and leaf and bark texture images into your Terragen directory so they can go into your Multishader and Default Shaders. I also had to uncheck Unpremultiply in the Image tab of the Leaf Default Shader to get rid of white speckles.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

The program saves the object data in Blitz 3D programming language object file format. I could not get the Direct X object data to load into Blender 2.49a. Blender 2.49a uses Python 2.6. I looked for the python script, but was unable to find any import scripts at all. So there is no way I can repair, or rewrite the python code.
I did send the programmer an email. I am waiting for a reply. Hopefully, since Blender is open source, a compatible exporter from the tree generator will be added.

Thanks John. What happened to your text? It's all strike out.

Never mind. It's just my computer. I'd still like to use this in Blender.

Yeh, I've sorted that now. The guy's Global Illumination program is actually called Gile[ess] and the open square brackets/s/close square brackets sets off the text strike through.
You should be able to get it into Blender now.
