Dune

As the title suggests, this clearing is a mix of two stretched fractals, blended by a simple shape. Easy and quite effective, but I haven't done much more about it.

nice idea... looks very cool, any chance of a screenshot of the node network?
:)

Here you go. A bit of mess, though.

fascinating! what is the 90degree turn? a displacement shader? how can that turn 90 degrees?

Excellent results! Very realistic looking. I know this is an experiment but if you wanted to turn it into a proper scene I don't think it would take much more work. The clouds look a bit unnatural with their consistently sharp, flat bottoms, so you could fix that. Also some more density and color variation for the vegetation (trees) on the ground. With those adjustments I think it would be superb.

Tungaska in summer :)  looks like you started to spell word... I see D ...

Sure would like to see you finish this one.

You're right, Oshyan. It was just fiddling, so I don't know about doing more about it. It's an easy way to get some fields, but I prefer 'real' masking for more control.
