Welcome to the wonderful world of self-promotion.  I do a lot of renders with my handle in them. I use it for scaling.

Not sure if anyone can help... I'm trying to render 3d text with a smoothed squashed torus around the text.  I'm using blender.

I smooth the torus in blender but when I export it and render in Terragen all of the facets are back again (ie it is not smoothed)

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I need to render it smoothed.  I am going to attach the files as well.

If there are options in Blender at the export time for smoothing the OBJ try that.
If not you can use Poseray (it is a free program) for example to smooth the object.
Sometimes even importing and exporting helps.
If not there are smoothing options in Poseray.

I just figured out that I was only using 48 major segments and 12 minor segments on my torus.

Once I bumped this up to the max, my renders are finally how I want them

So how many blender fans are out there in the terragen community?

Try the reflectivity tab of the object's shader...

Or, if it's a surface layer, put a reflective shader in between.

It's ike TG, I have to teach myself but I'm always acting up in class.
