Title: New take on the last
Post by: Cocateho on January 10, 2017, 11:42:10 PM
Lost my latest project when my hard drive decided to crash, but I'm back up and running again. But of a different take on a similar project, this time a field instead of a lake. I saved the terrain into a separate project file because I felt like it would be fun to work with for multiple scenes later  ::). Hope you guys enjoy!

- Credit to AP for his pines he recently shared, nice work!

Thanks guys! Glad you all like it. I decided to experiment with a little macro and DOF. Also played with the lighting quality for the heck of it and while I kept the GI detail at 4 I bumped the sample quality to 10 since (from my understanding) that tends to be more important for objects. Certainly overkill, but regardless I think the lighting looks pretty good   ::)

It's very nice indeed. Unfortunately GISD doesn't work well with DoF at the moment. If you look at the taller trees blurred in the background you can see they look rather odd...

The best workaround is to render with GISD but without DoF, and render out a depth map (render elements), then do the DoF in Photoshop or another image editor that can use masks for blur.
