Title: Here, let me light your cigar
Post by: N-drju on August 11, 2017, 04:59:23 PM
Completely by accident, I just found a very nice resource at the DAZ store. It's called Ron's Flames

It's a collection of flame brushes for Photoshop. As such it can be used as a great post-work resource for TG as well. I'm not sure if you are familiar with it - I wasn't.

I needed something like this awhile back but creating flames in TG only is a heck of a job and results are rather poor. Now I discovered this. Here are a few examples of how it looks as a raw resource and in a render. Well... both examples are rather crude actually, but just to give it a shot.

Very nice. You can paint masks to use in TG as well.

Hm, in the morning I tried the resource again. Somehow, I managed to get a color and illumination just like for a hot, live flame. It looked much, much more realistic. But I did not write the settings down! :(
