Title: align and move multiple objects together
Post by: Agura Nata on July 10, 2017, 03:20:40 AM
I often build my parts together in Blender, but now they are more comprehensive and so the question arises:
Is it possible to combine, align and move multiple objects together in TG 4?

Greetings Aois :)

Not really. You can move/rotate one part/object, and copy the coordinates into the other parts if you want to move/rotate a whole buch to a new location, but in the same constellation. Otherwise you have to manually move/rotate each object part. You can save the whole buch as a clipfile then.
I would suggest Poseray to combine into one object if you want a static combination.

Thanks for the quick reply my friend!

I thought to myself, a pity, that means a little more work, but well that I now modest knows :)

It's very easy in Poseray to combine stuff; just select all objects from the import tab and a 'combination name' is being asked for. They all load at once, and you can save as obj just as easy.

Thanks, I'll test it! :)

Damn, I never tried that. Guess I should read the PoseRay docs ae! I've been loading one at a time and then when all parts are on the drop down list I load the base and merge the rest from the list. Great time saver Ulco, thanks.

I am assuming what you want to do cannot be used with the append feature of Blender.

I often combine objects with that method. Example: a group of flowers, when each flower was made in a separate Blender file. append mesh and material of each and all ....then arrange and group...make new object...

With us there was a strong thunderstorm and the Internet and telephone for a day failed. In front of our house a sheep and a herd of goats graze. A sheep has clamped between two small trees, and the other sheep have risen to the poor ladder to reach higher branches. Since no telephone went we had to look for the farmers, after 2 hours he then released the sheep at 11 pm in the night.
Since one notices first how one is dependent on telephone and Internet.

In Blender you can move everything beautifully if you have a group.

We intend to add object grouping at some point in the future.
