was starting on an experiment and this started happening from increasing the patch size and enabling smooth surface in both a compute terrain and a compute normal in the shader stack

Thanks Kadri, thought I'd seen that; so to continue, anyone find any cool uses for the Stroke in the colour section of the SS shader?

yeah I would love to know how to soft edge it...maybe that's a tweak I should request. I do find it handy as a pop mask as the regularity can be tweaked in population edit but not much else.

Me too. So far I didn't find any use for it at all.
