Awesome. I think it looks really good, only a few areas that you see something 'funny' in the depth (incoherent movement), and you can tell it's processed. I wonder how they proces photo's to get depth anyway....

I guess it's the same technique that's used to convert 2D movies to 3D, so creating a second stereo image and digitally filling up uncovered areas.
That's an idea. I thought they might have turned the photo's into terrains, textured and rendered thus.
You can do it with After effects and others. there are a number of tuts. The OP video is the best I have seen so far though.

After effects! Good to know. So I guess the depth pass will be very useful to do something like that. Easier than handpainting a depth map. Cool.

Anaglyphs already provide some 3D information. Morphing from left eye to right eye image may account for the incoherent movements you see.
indeed the OP video may be more complex then just 2D to 3D. There does look to be more going on in the video when you look down into the canyons that seems to be more then simple compositing tricks. B
" AP" posted those HD images of mars in the other thread here in open. Would like to see if anyone wants to try and recreate a few moments like OP video in this thread, with one of those photos and the compositing methods demoed in my links.
If you google for a little while there are at least 20 tuts of the methods. there may be a little variation in methods that are more or less useful.
Of course, René, you have some of your own mars images that would be pretty great to try too. Plus your images are from ground level witch could add alot to it
anyway, still pretty inspirational all these related threads together. 8)
