here is the question trouble me a lot.how can i convert the mask(from distribution/surface) to a image mask that i can use it anywhere else.like the image output of worldmachine.
and how can i inner offset the mask/selection(from distribution/surface and has no soft edge ) to get another mask

Hmmm, definitely one for the 'Mask Master Dune' I'd say.
Well, that's not easy. I think the only way is to render it out somehow (by applying the grey map gradient over terrain) and import again as image map. But I don't really understand what your aim is. There might be an easier way, though I may not be the one to answer, as I will be offline for a while (moving house).
