What does the number for farthest distance here represent in meters?

That's scientific notation for 1,000,000 (1 million). http://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/scientific-notation-converter.htm

Or just do it super easy with modern search engines. For example my search engine is Google. So all you need to do, is in your search bar type "1e+006 * 1" Additionally, you can put it in your calculator "1.e+6" and just hit equals.

I wish google would allow you to cast values to convert them. Would be handy. Like "(float) 1e+006" for example.
