Title: TG4 limitation?
Post by: JC1412 on October 01, 2017, 07:06:40 AM
Hello,

I'm trying to load a very high-definition displacement map (.ter) into the Heightfield node.
I find that I can use a 29 999 x 29 999 pixel map with no problem at all, but if I try to use a 32 768 x 32 768 pixel map, Terragen crashes.
Is there some kind of limitation to the maximum size map (.ter) that Terragen can support for displacement?

I use Terragen 4.1.14
HP Z400 with 48 Go Ram
Windows 7

Thank you,
JC

Not sure if this a built in limitation (30k +)  but if you can load your terrain into World Machine or Global Mapper they could re-output it as a set of tiles that Terragen could then load which should get round the issue.

hello cyphyr

Thank you for your workaround.

I'm going to give it a try
