Wow the lighting in the first one is incredible (in fact before I clicked on it I thought the thumbnail was your ref pic for the second image!). I like the second image too but I'm not so sure about the reflection in the lake. It kind of looks like ice (which is never reflective!)
:)

The first is (quite) final, the second only a first iteration of another experiment. I want to have snow/sand blown over a road in a decent way. The water is supposed to be ice, but I now replaced the water shader by some other shaders, which is better.

Great images!
@cyphyr: I have to disagree with you. Ice can of course be reflective:

Very nice Ulco!

Want to have some snow on trees/objects?
If so then just PM me.

Cheers,

Amazing work Ulco. The last ones with ice and snow on the roads are superb! :D

Indeed but it's a completely different kind of reflection that in Ulco's image :)

Another road in two versions derived from an exr. Rendered at 0.75, AA 16 (1/16 threshold 0.1), GI 2/2. I don't really know which one I prefer, they both have something nice.
Pity I cannot compete....  :-[

I prefer the verison lighter. On the other hand in the two versions the butterflies do not appear natural to me. The details of the road and the light are excellent, in my opinion it's very realistic!!!   :)

No, I've made a commitment to the NWDA, and neither member competes. Besides, I've won some stuff before  ;)

Version 2 is the favorite for me. How'd you do that, Ulco? Making those surfaces look so real. You've mastered all kinds of scales. I am astounded every time.

The dirty water puddle is great. The color of the butterflies just livens the scene up.
