Terragen Linux Install
----------------------

Terragen for Linux is distributed as a folder containing almost everything needed for it to run. Simply place this folder in a convenient location.

Depending on what is installed in your Linux distro some third party libs may need to be installed via your package manager. Different things seem to be missing on different distros of different ages. The easiest way to find if anything is missing is to run TG in the terminal and see if it complains about missing libraries. These can easily be found with a quick web search to find the package you need to install. We may look at streamlining this process in the future.

The main folder contains the following items:

terragen - This is the executable
docs - Contains some documentation and license files
gdal_data - Contains data file used for georeferencing
lib - Contains dynamic libraries required by TG
License.txt - This is the license for Terragen
plugins - Contains plugins required by TG
proj4_data - Contains data files used for georeferencing
Terragen-3.ucr - Contains resources required by TG

TG does create folders and files in certain locations when it's run. These items are located at this path:

~/.config/Planetside Software

TG copies the key file here when it starts up (~/.config/Planetside Software/Terragen 3/).
